White bedroom

The only accents in this pure white bedroom (featuring bedclothes from our Modular range) are the light shade of brown of the bedside lamp, and the logs piled next to the fireplace. Although white is seen as too sterile for some, for others it is a pure, clean canvas which may be easily supplemented or transformed with accessories of different colours. Try looking at the lamp and the logs again, but imagine that the lamp is in your favourite colour, and the logs are replaced by a picture or accessory of the same shade. Christy

The hard white walls in this spacious bedroom are contrasted by the rich, dark wood of the floor, and are softened by the luxuriant rug and bed. In this way, textures and not just colours play their role in providing accents and contrasts. A small splash of colour is given by the charcoal and brick red ceramics on the bedside table. EVVE

White, accented by a calming and elegant grey are the themes in this bedroom. The throws and rug again soften the hardness of the furnishings. Note that this room enjoys a great deal of natural light, so the sombre tones are easier to get away with. Giacomelli

The bedroom in this picture uses a variety of light shades, as well as a diversity of materials in the accessories. Curtains in cream, a thick pile rug, and bold decorative pillows lend comfort and warmth to a room that may otherwise seem austere.
The Misura Emme white bedroom

Thanks to the elegant white tones of the bed and walls, and a fur throw, this bedroom feels delicate and warm. A number of accessories help give this room a friendly and lived-in look. Tomasella Compas
Blue bedroom

The dark wood panelling and deep blue bedding create a very masculine feel to this bedroom. The square-edged lamp and nautical pictures further strengthen the sensation. Christy
Orange Bedroom

Terracotta tiling, and walls in the same tones lend a sunny and warm feel to this rustic and feminine bedroom. Both the furniture and the bedclothes are in neutral tones, offsetting the surrounding colour. Although difficult at first to notice, the accent colour is pink, and is provided by pillows, upholstery and accessories. Roche Bobois

Orange is not the colour of choice for the bedroom, and should, at most, be used as an accent colour only. Here we see an example in the bed and the bookshelf. Note that if you opt for an orange bed, your bedclothes will have to be in neutral tones. Valdichienti
Green Bedroom

What colour is an oasis? Green is natural, refreshing, and soothing. The human eye is able to see more shades of green than any other colour, so, as in a forest or oasis, you can experiment with a variety of different tones in one location. In this bedroom sober and calming greens are used on the walls and blinds, accentuated by at least 3 other shades of green in the accessories and throw. White is used on the furnishings, bed and window fittings. Luxafles

Although this bedroom is similar to the above, brown has been used as a second accent colour in addition to the green. Again, brown is an excellent choice in this palette, as its sets off the natural green with its dark, earthy tones reminiscent of tree bark and the rich earth of a forest floor. Hulsta

With a few accessories, the natural feel of a green bedroom can be changed to something bold and striking. In this case a turquoise-blue has been used to offset the green, to create a fantasy bedroom for a bolder or younger inhabitant. Note that this effect could look somewhat messy if it were not for the fact that the bedcovers, vase, and walls were not in the same exact shade. Neville-Johnson-Cappella
Red Bedroom

Red is the colour of blood, passion and intimacy. It increases the heart rate, and is also associated with danger. That said, red is also associated with romance and love. In this maily white and bleached oak room, red is used on an accent wall, the bedclothes, and the rug. The lightness of the room has been preserved by the white furnishings, accessories and curtains, making a romantic and pleasant room. Minacciolo

Again, red has been used as an accent with this dark bed. Whites, black and browns work well with red. However, ensure that the colour is broken up by either white furniture, wall mirrors, or in the case of this room, bright lighting. Choose the lighting that works best for you in terms of hue and brightness, to chase away dark shades in the room. Lema Home
Pink Bedroom

What could be more feminine than pink? Pink is usually associated with childishness, sensuality or gentleness, and is an unconventional colour in the adult bedroom. However, as you can see from this haute couture bedroom, a bold and almost regal statement may be made with the purples, deep pinks, and old rose accessories and bedclothes, further accentuated by the oversized, highly decorated bed and strongly-stained woods of the furnishings. This is the bedroom for the queen of the manor. Ferrari
Purple Bedroom

Purple, a colour traditionally associated with wealth and nobility, can work very well in the bedroom. The bedroom above is accented with bold shades of purple in the rug, throw, accent wall, and painting. Although the bed is dark, the floor and main walls are light, and the room enjoys a great deal of natural light. Ensure good lighting if you want to use these deep hues. Gismobel

If you want to use purple in your bedroom, ensure it is of a deep shade, as purple can easily look washed out. In this bedroom, the deep purple walls provide an excellent contrast to the other opulent but light tones of gold and white in a room that could easily be found in a palace or castle. mobilificio bellutti

Note yet again that the dramatic purple accent wall is of a very deep tone. To bring out the colour and lighten the mood, a backlight has been situated behind the headrest. The bed rather accents the bedclothes and wall in this room, and the light rug and lavender flooring provide both and contrast and make the bed the centre of attention. Note the large amount of artificial light necessary. Roche Bobois
Brown Bedroom

Brown, along with green, is the colour of choice in today’s most fashionable bedrooms. Like purple, go for deep shades of brown rather than light, and offset with whites, greens, woods and creamy shades for best effect. This bedroom’s deep, loamy bed and accent wall contrast well with the bleached wood furniture and white walls and floor. A third colour, rust or auburn is used to give an autumnal glow. ColombiniGroup

Brown here is used as a colour of opulence and luxury, heightened by the large amount of leather and fur in the room. Although this photo was taken in a studio, an accent wall in the same colour would be recommended, with lighter walls around. Note the band of light around the bed – a room filled with these deep colours would need a lot of accent lighting Smania
