The Hotel Bedroom – at home

The Modern Bedroom

The Modern bedroom design is characterised by clean and crisp tones enhanced with strong-coloured accessories such as dark or exotic woods, metals or bleached wood. Furniture is simple and minimalist, with straight lines and no ornamentation. Bedding is usually of a one colour, enhanced by strongly coloured accessories such as throws and pillows. Some of the more courageous choose striking colours such as avocado, turquoise, cocoa, and orange.
Lighting has become more important in the bedroom. The range of modern lights can add ambiance space or softness to the room.
An interesting and bold look chosen by some customers is a pure white look – from walls, to rugs, bedding, wardrobes, accessories and curtains.
Accessories also have their place in the bedroom. Smooth and shapely vases and bowls in the same colour as your accent pillows and throws add elegance to your bedroom.

Modern bedroom designs require bedding and sheets of quality material, which can be in different shades of solid colours. Rather than patterns, bedding can found with interesting textures of silks or satin. Crisp white sheets of high thread count cotton look crisp and clean, and are lovely to fall in to!

Classic Bedroom

The classic bedroom is designed as a place to wind down and relax. Decoration and furnishings in this type of bedroom are defined by their contrasting shades: furniture is usually dark, whilst wall colour and bed linen are to be found in lighter colours. Oriental Bedroom

If you have enough room, and love simplicity and minimalist furnishings, the Oriental style is for you. In this bedroom, every item has its place - even furniture is eschewed. Bed linen should be mainly of one colour, without decoration or embroidery, and dark colours are widely used. Textures and Layers

For the last few years, textures and layers have been replacing patterns in bedroom fashion. For example, smooth silk or satin bedspreads, with a loose-knitted woollen throw has been common place for a few seasons. Try for yourself different combinations of fabrics - fluffy cushions and smooth satin upon an Egyptian cotton duvet. You can create that 5 star hotel look at home by adding extra pillows and cushions - just throw them on the floor as you climb into bed and throw them back on in the morning – they’re also great to smack on your snoring husband’s head!

In the romantic bedroom, surround yourself – literally – with rich fabrics and patterns. Furniture should be mainly wooden, with dark or white coloured bed linen, and large, bold embroidered patterns. No part of the bedroom is left undecorated.
